🌝 Kiri Poya Day🌝

Have you ever heard of Kiri Poya?πŸ€”

Kiri Poya (Suddha Poya) is cecelebrated by the people of the southern province in the month of July. Also, many people have heard of this pohoya, which the people living in Ambalangoda areas of Balapitiya perform to the letter, but it is uncertain that they have seen it.

Here the Villagers clean their houses and they are also clean, after they go to the kovil ground and offer offerings etc and seek blessings to perform these religious ceremonies held at home on the day of Esala pohoya.

On the day at Kiri Poya, the house is washed and cleaned by sprinking turmerice liquid. Then take a fresh pot and cook the "kiri dodol," which is made by adding honey, flour and coconut milk to a thick mixture. Not even a tasting is done while preparing this food. πŸ’At the same time they cook rice or milk rice for dinner. In every houses, everyone's support is received for this. It is a pure performance with great devotion.

Then a beautiful wing is made from the gok leaves.... all the residents gather and put the food and flower lamps there and offer it to God. πŸ™‡

Then all the residents who sit on mats on the floor, in the middle of the house share the Kiri Dodol and milk rice or rice cooked on banana leaves. Even after eating milk food, the the meat food is not cooked in the house until three meals.☝️

Even though milk food is cooked in every house in the area, the next day relatives and neighbors share the "Kiri Dodol" food in their respective homes.πŸ€—

I wake up each morning and get things done in an orderly and timely manner. As well as not being able to  accomplish these tasks on time can leave me dissatisfied and make me frustrated. Additionally, I read many books other than my textbooks since my school age. πŸ€—Reading detective story books an...

πŸ’— Lowland Painting Arts. πŸ’—

πŸ§‘‍🎨 Lowland paintings of the Kandy period. πŸ§‘‍🎨 During the period of the Mahanuwara kingdoms, this art spread in the lowland areas of the island, specially in the southern and western provinces. As a result of the enthusiasm of Sangharaja Thero for his students to establish and maintain Buddhist temples in the lowlands, this art of painting spread to the lowlands. This art that spread in the pahatara areas has elements similar to the paintings of the uplands. But there are also notable differences. That is, although the style used, the techniques followed are almost the same, there are significant differences in the shape of the human figures, clothes, background colours, designs, background decorations and etc. In this way, some of the lowland temples where the tradition of painting in Kandy spread are mentioned below.πŸ’ Thelwaththa Rathpath Rajamaha Wiharaya Karagampitiya Subhodaramaya Dodanduwa Sailabimbaramaya Ambalangoda Sunandaramaya Mulkirigala Rajamaha Wiharaya Kelaniya...
